Inspired by the horror comics of the 1960's and 50's, horror anthology films combine a number of short stories, sometimes interwoven with each other, or as a standalone episode. But they all follow a central theme - whether it be a story introduced by the Crypt-Keeper, the Creeper (or some other type of host) and/or feature the same central character throughout all the stories, like Sam(hain).
